Mumbai:
Champion batsman Sachin Tendulkar has pulled out of the N K P Salve Challenger Series to be held in Nagpur from October 8-11.
"Tendulkar would not be playing in the Challenger Series," Cricket Board sources told PTI on Tuesday.
Tendulkar was named in the India Blue team to be led by national captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Meanwhile, with the non-availability of the injured Yuvraj Singh for the tournament, a new captain is to be decided by the selectors for India Red.
India Green, the third team in the fray in the 50-over-a-side day-night tournament to be held at the newly constructed Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) stadium in Jamtha, will be captained by Suresh Raina.
