Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar is all set to make his Rajya Sabha debut as he is expected to take the oath on Wednesday.
Sachin, whose tenure as a Rajya Sabha member began on April 27 along with veteran actor Rekha and industrialist Anu Aga, is busy playing for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Rekha took oath in the Upper House of the Parliament today.
Sachin's nomination to the Rajya Sabha invited mixed reactions. While his fans supported his candidature, many questioned if he could take out time from his busy schedule and do justice to the job.
On Monday, the Supreme Court had also quashed a petition that challenged his nomination. A Top Court bench headed by Justice Deepak Verma dismissed as withdrawn the petition by one Ram Gopal Singh Sisodia contending that Tendulkar's nomination to the upper house of the Indian constitution was contrary to the provisions of the constitution.
