Sydney:
Young Australia fast bowler Pat Cummins has suffered a new setback to his injury-plagued cricket career, quitting the Australia A team's tour of South Africa with back pain.
The 20-year-old Cummins made a remarkable Test debut against South Africa at Johannesburg in 2011, taking 6-79 and hitting the winning runs in a Man of the Match performance.
He has missed the last two Australian domestic seasons with back and foot injuries and has played only six first class matches in three years.
Australia A physiotherapist Kevin Sims said Cummins had reported rib and back pain during Australia's game against India A and had returned home for assessment.
