Hello and welcome to the second day of the second test between Pakistan and New Zealand. After the loss in Abu Dhabi the visitors looked strong through the day 1 of this Test. They just lost three wickets and scored 243 runs. Tom Latham went on to score his second century of the series and is still not out. The Kiwis will be looking to score big in this innings and create a strong position in this match. On the other end, Pakistan will hope to dismiss them as early as possible before the game starts slipping away from their hand.
Day 2, Session 1...
The Kiwis have done the first step right. Bat well in the first innings, at least they have got a good start. Now they need to build on this and bat for another day, reaching close to 500. Then hope for some cheap Pakistan wickets late in the day. Too early to call. The picture will be clearer by Tea tomorrow. Join us at 0600 GMT (1130 IST) for all the action from Day 2 as and when it unfolds. Until then, Adios! Take Care!
A tough day for Pakistan in the field, struggling to pick up wickets and then messing up easy chances in the field. They still need not be overly worried about today as New Zealand have not played at a rollicking pace. They will aim to bowl the visitors out quickly too, say around 350 and then bat well.
It has been Tom Latham's day. He has batted the whole day, making a patient 137 and keeping Pakistan at bay. They had decent partnerships for every wicket with Latham playing the anchor role.
Well, the umpires get together for a chat and they are not happy with the light. Off go the batsmen and that will be STUMPS ON DAY 1!
