No harm in having review system: Dravid

Rahul Dravid on Sunday endorsed the use of Umpire Decision Review System (UDRS), saying that if the technology is foolproof and the system can ensure uniformity, there is no harm in going for the review system.

"My personal view is that if it can be proved that technology is foolproof, there is no harm in going for it. As long as we can be sure that it is available for every Test match, every condition all over the world and it's uniform," Dravid said while responding to a question at the end of day three of the first Test between India and Australia here.

In response to Australia's first innings total of 428, India were bowled out at 405, with Dravid making 77.

The veteran batsman, who has 29 centuries from 142 Tests to his name, said, "there is a lot of ambiguity as to what kind of technology is available. In some series, you don't get the same cameras, slow motion cameras and other equipment and that's some sort of thing which creates ambiguity."

"If we can have a common sort (uniform) of system in every series, I see no reason why we cannot have it," he said.

"I don't think we are completely there, but we are getting there. I think the ICC may get to a position where Umpire Decision Review System will become part and parcel of the game and I would welcome it," the veteran batsman said.
