Rangana Herath completed a hat-trick as Sri Lanka tightened the noose around Australia on the second day of the second Test at the Galle International Stadium on Friday.
The 38-year-old spinner removed Adam Voges, Peter Neville and Mitchell Starc to become the second Sri Lankan after Nuwan Zoysa to take a Test-hat-trick.
Zoysa had achieved the feat with his first three balls in a match against Zimbabwe in 1999.
Australia were all out for 106 in the first innings after having dismissed the hosts for 281.
Herath returned with figures of 4/35, while Dilruwan Perera took four wickets for 29 runs.
David Warner was the top-scorer for visitors with 42 runs while Mitchell Marsh contributed 27 runs to the team's total.
