West Indies paceman Shannon Gabriel will return home after he suffering an ankle injury early in his team's crushing first Test loss to Australia, team officials said on Saturday.
Gabriel could not bat in either innings after suffering a stress-related injury to his left ankle late on Thursday's opening day.
A replacement will be named in the coming days, a team spokesman said.
Gabriel bowled with some impressive pace and claimed the wicket of Joe Burns in a first-innings haul of one for 59 off 10 overs.
The West Indies played for most of Australia's massive first innings of 583 for four declared without their fastest bowler and went down by an innings and 212 runs in Hobart within three days.
Australia's Test win on Saturday was their second biggest over the Windies.
