BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakur Promises to Help Promote Afghanistan Cricket
Afghanistan played the ICC World Cup for the first time this year and have also expressed their intention to come and play in India.

BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur on Thursday said that they would help Afghanistan Cricket Board in every manner to help them match level of other countries on the international stage.
Thakur said, "Afghanistan Cricket Board has requested BCCI that they want to come and play here, use the infrastructure and also to have one venue as the Afghan venue. Their Board has requested to create one centre in India which can be dedicated to Afghanistan cricket."(BCCI Non-Committal on Afghanistan's Home Ground Request)
He said that Afghanistan has said that they want to come and play in India.
"BCCI will be more than happy to accommodate the Afghan cricket team for any kind of help for the promotion of the game," he said.(Afghanistan Seek Home Ground in India)
Asked if any kind of financial assistance will be given to Afghanistan team from BCCI side, he said,"Let's see, let them write to BCCI. Any knowledge, any kind of help which Afghanistan Board requires, we are more than happy to help them."
