Here is the full statement released by the Lalit Modi camp, after the former IPL Commissioner was removed as Rajasthan Cricket Association in a controversial move on Saturday:
The so called meeting of the Rajasthan Cricket Association executive committee in Jaipur was wholly unauthorised and illegal. Firstly, under the RCA constitution, a due process is defined to convene any extraordinary meeting of the executive committee by the Honorary Secretary of the RCA. (Modi Hits Back After RCA Removes Him as President)
Honorary Secretary, RCA did not convene any such extraordinary meeting. Moreover, there was no notice of any such meeting and it was organised in a very clandestine manner, away from the RCA office. There is no provision for any such summary privision to dislodge and destabilise a duly elected body. ('Lalit Modi Exit Orchestrated by N. Srinivasan')
All those claiming to be members of the executive committee attending that meeting had fake identities.
This is the handy work of a handful of disgruntled elements, who are playing in the hands of N.Srinivasan and other anti-RCA elements. These very people have been turncoats in RCA politics. (Modi Exit Set to Bring Back RCA Into BCCI Fold)
The entire RCA is behind the duly elected body constituted under the supervision of Supreme Court-appointed observors which elected Mr. Lalit Modi as the president. The entire association is behind Lalit Modi and his team.
Under the RCA constitution, strict disciplinary action will be taken against all those found involved in this mischief.
