Registering their first points of the competition in the final league game, Barbados Tridents outplayed Northern Knights by six wickets in a rain-reduced Oppo Champions League Twenty20 Group B match on Tuesday. Catch all the highlights of the match here: (SCORECARD | POINTS TALLY)
Earlier put into bat, Knights posted 135 for eight in 19 overs as Devcich top-scored with 47 runs.
Knights lost a wicket early after Kane Williamson was scalped by Ravi Rampaul (3-34) for 1 but Devcich, with a run-a-ball knock and skipper Daniel Flynn (21) resurrected the innings only to lose the plot later.

JAMES FRANKLIN HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH. Says that it is always nice to finish a tournament on a winning note. Agrees that experience helps people to deal with different challenges. Recounts the different players in other sides whom he has played with and eagerly awaits us to play with them in the upcoming domestic season back in New Zealand.
Victorious Barbados captain Rayad Emit, thanks the Almighty for this win. Is relieved on crossing the line after 3 failures early on. Admits that the game had become too close to call but he had confidence in the experienced guys, Franklin and Chigumbura. Credits the whole team for putting in a great effort.

JONATHAN CARTER smiles and says that the entire group works together. Really wanted to win tonight and wanted to finish on a high. Says that just sitting and watching is not likeable especially with his passion for cricket. Credits players like Kieron Pollard for talking to him a lot.
Northern Knights skipper DANIEL FLYNN admits that they did not have enough runs, probably 15-20 runs short. Agrees that rain did hamper their momentum but they did not get off to a great start either. Wanted to finish with a win but says that such things happen in T20.
Carter came down the order tonight and had a good partnership with Franklin who eventually finished the game. Credit to Chigumbura for his handy cameo which took the pressure off Franklin. The Kiwis nearly pulled it off in the middle overs with Sodhi boasting figures of 4-0-18-3 but that did not turn out to be enough.
They made it difficult for themselves in the end but eventually, the Tridents have won. The bowlers set up the win by restricting the Knights to 135. In reply, Munaweera got off to a flier but out of nowhere, there was a collapse and it seemed as if the tables were going to change.

That reminded me of a dismissal his cousin Floyd once had while playing in a Test against Bangladesh. He(Floyd) wildly jumped down the track and swung to the leg side, ended up missing the ball completely from Shakib and got a leading edge to backward point. In this case, Raymon did not come down the track but looked to flick anyways. He turned a long way and the ball went the other way, to his right and took the leading edge behind point.
