Chennai:
While former India all-rounder Singh was of the view that anything could happen when two good team clashes, the world's highest wicket taker Sri Lanka's Murali said Chennai need to score big once again as they did against Rajasthan Royals in their previous outing.
"It is difficult to predict the outcome of tomorrow's match. Chennai are a good side. Anything can happen between the teams (Mumabi Indians) on a given day. We have to be consistent and look forward towards a positive result," Singh said.
"We will field the best team. We do not want to lose the momentum since we have not still qualified for the semi final. We will take this match with all seriousness. May be after we are assured of semifinal slot, we might rest a few players," Singh added.
"Any side can beat any one in this format and let's see what happens tomorrow. We have good batsmen. We have scored the highest total in IPL the other day and we will go with full intensity to win tomorrow," Murali said.
"No body wants to rest any player and we will also look at this aspect. In fact, it is good for the players to play in IPL as they get good practice. Moreover, no team will rest good players," he added.
On his own team's strength and Murali Vijay's aggression in the last two matches for the hosts, Singh said, "It was one of the knock. We have plans for everyone and that includes Vijay also."
On domestic and international players combine, Singh said, "In the first IPL, the focus was on selected areas. That is not the case now. We are trying to get the best players to fill in these slots. It does not matter as to where they are coming from. International players do help list of domestic players, which is the object of IPL."
Talking about sixth and seventh slotted batsmen getting to score big runs, Robin said, "T20 is very different from 50-a-side matches. Players in these slots will have very few balls to face and score does not matter but striking rate is important."
Murali said he still feels the same intensity and motivation as playing for Sri Lanka and, "I have got that mental attitude always with me."
"For me, my team winnings matches are important. The game is not only for spinners but also for fast bowlers. Whoever bowls well, he is going to get wickets and then accolades," he said.
