Karachi:
Former captain Javed Miandad had stalled an attempt by his former Pakistan team colleague Haroon Rasheed to present a new domestic cricket structure to the board recently.
Miandad, current PCB Director General of Cricket and in-charge of the domestic cricket cell, didn't allow Haroon to give a presentation on a new domestic structure at the last governing council meeting held in Lahore.
"Yes, I objected to Haroon coming in for a presentation on domestic cricket because this is my responsibility and no one told me anything about such a presentation," Miandad said.
Miandad took offence when Haroon was invited to the governing council meeting where he started to give his presentation to the members before Miandad objected to it.
"I raised the point that when I was in-charge of all domestic cricket matters why was Haroon making such a presentation and who had given him approval," he said.
Sources said Haroon, who played a number of Tests with Miandad and also worked with him as manager in the national team in 2003, was taken aback at Miandad's objection.
"He was surprised since he was making presentation in his capacity as head of National Cricket Academy," a source said.
Sources said the governing council members had supported Miandad and pointed out that Haroon should not be giving the presentation without seeking approval from Miandad.
Eventually PCB Chairman Ejaz Butt agreed to Miandad's objection.
