Mumbai:

The Mumbai Cricket Association will reward the members of its triumphant Ranji Trophy team as well as the support staff with a bonus of Rs one lakh each for clinching the national championship by beating Karnataka in the final at Mysore on Thursday.

"Each player who has taken part in the Ranji Trophy for Mumbai this season would be given Rs one lakh each by the association. The same amount would be given to each member of the support staff," MCA treasurer Ratnakar Shetty said.

Defending champion Mumbai, led by Wasim Jaffer, defeated Karnataka by six runs in a nail-biting summit clash to clinch the crown for the 39th time in 43 appearances in the finals.

The triumph has already made the players richer by Rs two crore, the prize money offered by the Cricket Board for winning the title.

Runners-up Karnataka will receive Rs one crore.
