Umesh Yadav, Man-of-the-Match: This is my first Man-of-the-Match award and I am very happy with my bowling. I stuck to my plan, I have been working hard on getting my rhythm back. I have been working on my basics. It was a good wicket to bowl on because there was bounce and nice carry. Early on in my spell, I just focus on my length and try to get some swing; because if I get swing at my pace I can get wickets.

That's the end of this match. It's another double-header tomorrow.

Gautam Gambhir, Kolkata Knight Riders captain: I would not have reacted that way had I nicked it (on his bat-throwing episode at the dug-out). It just happened in the heat of the moment. It was a big game for us, because this win has given us a four-point advantage over SRH. I am happy with the way Uthappa, Yusuf and Manish batted. I also want to give credit to the bowlers, who restricted Hyderabad to 143 on such a wicket.

Darren Sammy, Sunrisers Hyderabad captain: Credit to the bowlers, fought back to make a game out of it. The conditions have been different from last year but we have had some good games. We've not played with the same never-say-die spirit that we showed last year. We have not capitalised on key moments. It is not over, we have to win all three and hope some results go in our favour.

Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets to stay in contention for the playoffs. Chasing 143, the Knight Riders were rocked early when Gambhir fell to Steyn but Uthappa (40), Yusuf (39*) and Pandey (35) helped KKR keep their calm and overhaul a below-par target set by the hosts.

23:08 IST: Irfan Pathan had bowled a brilliant 17th over, giving away just six but SRH's most successful bowler went for 14 in the 18th as KKR looked set to chase down 143. KKR 127/3 with two overs to go.

22:31 IST: FOUR! Uthappa gave himself some room and cracked Mishra through the off-side. KKR are getting a move-on here, much needed.

22:25 IST: FOUR! Short from Irfan and Uthappa pulls it away to the fence. The 50 up for the Knight Riders in the 9th over and it is now important for SRH to get another wicket here.

22:23IST: Irfan Pathan in the attack with KKR on 45/1 off 8 overs and Ravi Shastri says on air that it's an evenly balanced game. The Sunrisers fans may be getting a little worried, given how poorly their bowlers have defended. How's it going to play out from here?

22:16 IST: FOUR! Amit Mishra in the attack and Uthappa smashes his third ball over covers as KKR try and catch up with the required rate.

21:59 IST: FOUR! Just a punch down the ground by Uthappa as that one from Kumar races away to the fence.

21:57 IST: WICKET! Gambhir falls to Steyn. It seemed like a poor caught behind decision by the umpire and the KKR captain was fuming on his way out. KKR 8/1 after 2 overs.

21:20 IST: WICKET! Darren Sammy was always struggling in the middle and he brought his own misery to an end, when he failed to clear the ropes off Shakib's bowling. SRH 129/6 off 18.1 overs

21:13 IST: FOUR! Good shot from Irfan Pathan as Chawla continues after the timeout. SRH need a few more of that to try and get to a respectable score.

21:10 IST: SRH are staring at a below-par score now. After 16 overs, they have managed to reach 114/5. Strategic timeout

21:07 IST: It will be tough work for Irfan and Sammy to explode against KKR's spinners in the latter stages of the innings. They need to get some quick runs now but both batsmen have been unable to put bat to ball.

21:01 IST: WICKET! Umesh Yadav comes back in the attack and strikes immediately to remove a well-set Warner for 34. This is another mid-innings collapse for the hosts. SRH 104/5 in 13.2 overs

20:51 IST: Morkel back into the attack and David Warner creams two successive boundaries off the lanky Proteas.

20:49 IST: SRH are 84/3 after 11 overs as Chawla bowls his first over. It will be mostly an all-spin attack from the Knight Riders on a very good pitch. How will that turn out.
