Swashbuckling West Indian and Mumbai Indians star Kieron Pollard smashed six sixes in an over in a trial game for the Big Bash team Adelaide Strikers.
Pollard, who shot to fame with a blistering knock of 83 for Trinidad and Tobago in the Stanford 20-20 tournament in 2006. He followed it up with an 18-ball knock of 54 in the Champions League T20 in 2009 in India and has been in demand ever since. Signing for Mumbai Indians, Pollard has been one of the star turners in the Indian Premier League.
When Pollard was hitting the towering sixes, Australia's Brad Hodge had the best seat in the house- at the non-striker's end.
"When you sit at the other end, you just think how unbelievable that is, just the strength of the man, the skill of the human being. It's good he's come here in good form and a scary thought for any other player. It was cool fun watching, the ease he does it with is unbelievable," Hodge said, as reported by Fox Sports.
The Big Bash kick-starts on Thursday with Adelaide Strikers playing against Melbourne Stars. A mouth-watering contest is on the cards with a high-flying Pollard taking on another flamboyant superstar Kevin Pietersen.
