New Delhi:
"I sympathise with MS Dhoni. Given the kind of cut-throat competition we are witnessing in Champions Trophy, I can say anything can happen to any team," said Katich, who is here to represent New South Wales Blues in the inaugural Champions League Twenty20 tournament.
"We have seen some unexpected results during the event in South Africa and also there were couple of very close matches. I think, New Zealand has surprised a lot of people by their performance," 34-year-old Katich said.
Katich feels the element of uncertainty was playing its bit in making the one-dayers more interesting at a time when the 50-over format is facing stiff competition from Twenty20 cricket.
"The great thing is the close competitions are certainly making the one-day matches more attractive, which is good," said Katich who has played 45 ODIs, besides 43 Tests.
