New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson on Thursday led from the front as he registered a fine hundred against India at Delhi's Feroz Shah Kotla.
The stylish right-hander brought up his ton in 109 balls, with 13 fours and 1 six.
The 26-year-old was in total control right from the word go, as he notched up his 8th ODI hundred.
Williamson was ably supported by Tom Latham (46), with whom he stitched a 120-run partnership for the second wicket.
After being whitewashed in the Test series and outplayed in the 1st ODI, fans wondered whether the visitors had any fight left in them.
But Williamson's emphatic display in the 2nd ODI will help lift the morale of the New Zealand dressing room.
The Virat Kohli-Williamson duel was a key component in the build-up to this series. While India's star batsman scored a double ton in the Tests and an unbeaten 85-run knock at Dharamsala, the Kiwi batsman had been far less prolific until Thursday's match.
Now with Williamson too coming to the party, it makes matters far more interesting when it comes to this healthy rivalry between two of world cricket's most formidable batting talents.
