Kolkata:

Fit-again S Sreesanth is likely to replace out-of-form Ishant Sharma in the pace department while Suresh Raina's Test debut looks doubtful as the Indian team management seemed eager to retain S Badrinath in the side for the second Test against South Africa starting on Sunday.

It also seems that left-arm tweaker Pragyan Ojha enjoys an edge over Amit Mishra as Harbhajan Singh's spin partner for the match.

In another change, senior batsman VVS Laxman, having recovered from a finger injury, is all set to return to the playing XI in place of Wriddhiman Saha.

But Raina's inclusion in the team at the cost of Badrinath, who scored a half-century in the first innings of Nagpur Test, is highly unlikely as the team think-tank is giving a lot of emphasis on the Tamil Nadu batsman.

Sachin Tendulkar was, in fact, involved in long discussions with Badrinath, giving him batting tips.

In the fast bowling front, the team management gave more stress on Sreesanth, which was enough to indicate that Ishant, who went wicketless in Nagpur, might have to face the axe.

India trail the two-match series 0-1 after suffering a humiliating innings defeat in the first game in Nagpur.

India will now have to win the match to keep their number one Test status intact, or else South Africa will leapfrog the home side in the ICC rankings.
