The outcome of the match will also result in a reshuffling of the league table with a Delhi win enabling them to be level on points with second-placed Chennai Super Kings (eight points from five matches).
A win for sixth-placed RCB will enable them to join third positioned Kolkata Knight Riders (six points from five games) and fourth-placed DD (six from six).(Kohli RCB's Most Prolific Batsman)
Both teams have shown flickers of their considerable promise with young Shreyas Iyer impressing for Delhi, becoming the team's leading run-getter with 227 runs.
But they would hope that skipper Jean Paul Duminy and Yuvraj Singh contribute more consistently in their push for a semi-final spot.
The team's bowling has been led by the leg spin duo of South African Imran Tahir and Amit Mishra. They have worked in tandem superbly to emerge as the most potent spin bowling unit of the competition.
Tahir is the tournament's leading wicket-taker with 13 scalps.
RCB, led by Delhi boy Virat Kohli, will hope that batting dashers like Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers will do justice to their names and fire in unison to secure them a crucial victory.
