However, Shreyas and Samson steadied the ship before Jadeja landed the final nail in the coffin with an unbeaten 45. Earlier, Pathum Nissanka and Dasun Shanaka blew away the Indian bowling attack in the middle and death overs to help Sri Lanka post 183/5 in 20 overs in the second T20I of the series against Sri Lanka in Dharamsala. Nissanka was dismissed for 75 runs while Shanaka remained unbeaten on 47 runs off just 19 balls. Shanaka took apart Harshal Patel as he gathered 23 runs off the last over. Earlier, Team India skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl. India bowlers went wicketless for the first 7 overs before Danushka Gunathilaka was removed by Ravindra Jadeja for 38 runs.
