# Sachin Tendulkar (2884 in 30 Tests) has a golden opportunity to become the first batsman to complete 3000 runs in India-Australia Tests.
# In case he makes 73 runs in the Bangalore Test, Rahul Dravid (1927) would become the third batsman to complete 2000 runs in India-Australia Tests. He would be joining Tendulkar (2884) and VVS Laxman (2279).
# In case of a win, Mahendra Singh Dhoni would be the first Indian skipper to post four successive wins against Australia. Sunil Gavaskar and Sourav Ganguly had won three tests each against Australia.
# Rahul Dravid (197) requires three catches to become the first fielder in Test cricket to complete a double century of catches.
# If he makes 27 runs, Ricky Ponting (1862) would set an Australian record for the highest run-aggregate against India. Matthew Hayden had amassed 1888 (ave.59.00) in 18 Tests.
# Zaheer Khan (985) requires 15 runs to complete the double of 1,000 runs and 200 wickets. He would be joining the four Indian all-rounders - Kapil Dev, Javagal Srinath, Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh.
