Here are the statistical highlights of the second day's play between India and South Africa in the second Test in Kolkata.

Tendulkar, with his 47th hundred has extended his world record for most Test centuries. The other milestones/landmarks established by him are:
- Set a world record for sharing the most double hundreds (16) in Tests.
- the only one to make four hundreds this year.
- Has posted four hundreds in successive Tests - the fourth batsman to register the feat for India, joining Gautam Gambhir (5), Sunil Gavaskar (4) and Rahul Dravid (4)
- his runs' tally of 477 (ave.95.40) in four Tests this year is the highest for India in 2010.
- Equalled a world record for most Test hundreds (21) at home, joining Ricky Ponting and Matthew Hayden.
- Played ten tests at Eden Gardens, the most by him at any venue.
- First Indian to complete 6,000 runs in India and the third overall, next only to Ponting (6790) and Lara (6217).
- Shares an Indian record with Virender Sehwag for most Test hundreds (5) against South Africa.
Sehwag (1162) became the third Indian batsman after Tendulkar (1415) and Dravid (1132) to make 1,000 runs against South Africa.
Sehwag's runs' tally of 290 is bettered only by Hashim Amla (367) in the 2009-10 series.
Sehwag's 19th hundred is his eleventh in India - 18 in the first innings and just one in the second.
Sehwag has posted four hundreds - two against Sri Lanka - 131 (at Kanpur) and 293 (at Mumbai) and two against South Africa - 109 (at Nagpur) and 165 (at Kolkata) - in his last nine innings.
Sehwag (165 off 174 balls) has now recorded 13 knocks of 150-plus, bettering Sunil Gavaskar's tally of 12 such knocks. Only Sachin Tendulkar has registered more innings of 150-plus in Tests (18) than Sehwag for India.
The 73-run first wicket partnership is India's best against South Africa at Kolkata.
Sehwag and Tendulkar have set a third wicket partnership record (249) for India against South Africa. The said partnership is a third wicket at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, outstripping the 211 by Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan for Pakistan against India in 2005-06.
Paul Harris has delivered 12 wides in India's first innings of - a dubious distinction in Tests, surpassing Pakistan's Kabir Khan's tally of 9 wides in South Africa's second innings of 259 at Johannesburg in 1994-95.
