Following are the statistical highlights of the second ODI between India and Sri Lanka in Nagpur.

  • Suresh Raina's 13th ODI fifty is his fifth against Sri Lanka and his seventh in India.

  • Mahendra Singh Dhoni's 107 off 111 balls is his first hundred for losing cause - his sixth overall and his second against Sri Lanka.

  • Dhoni had first made a hundred against Sri Lanka in 2005 - 183 not out at Jaipur. Of his six centuries, five have been registered by Dhoni on Indian soil.

  • Dhoni became the first batsman to hit two successive hundreds at VCAS, Jamtha, Nagpur - his first century was against Australia in the first ODI at this venue - 124 off 107 balls.

  • Both Dhoni and Ricky Ponting are leading run-getters this year with 1098 runs. Dhoni's average of 70.47 is lot better than Ponting (42.78)

  • Tillakaratne Dilshan has been adjudged the Man of the Match for the sixth time in ODIs - his third against India.

  • Sri Lanka's first successful chase of 300-plus against India is their fifth in ODIs.

  • Tharanga-Dilshan pair became the first Sri Lankan opening pair to post century partnerships in succession against India - 188 at Rajkot and 102 at Nagpur.

  • The first Sri Lankan pair to achieve the feat in ODIs was - Sanath Jayasuriya and Marvan Atapattu - 171 against Bangladesh at Colombo SSC and 137 against India at Colombo RPS in 1997

  • Sachin Tendulkar is the first and only Indian player and the second after Pakistan's Javed Miandad to have played ODIs for 20 years.

  • Sachin Tendulkar has set another record. With 2861 runs at an average of 44.70 in 76 matches, he has surpassed Sanath Jayasuriya's tally of 2853 (ave.36.57) in 87 matches against India. Sachin is now the top run-getter in India-Sri Lanka ODIs.

  • Sri Lanka (302 for seven) have posted their first successful chase of 300-plus against India.

  • Tillakaratne Dilshan became the third Sri Lankan batsman to register consecutive centuries against India - 160 at Rajkot and 123 at Nagpur. Roy Dias was the first to accomplish the feat - 102 at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi on September 15, 1982 and 121 at Bangalore on September 26, 1982. Sanath Jayasuriya had posted an unbeaten 120 at Colombo RPS on August 28, 1996 and 151 not out at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on May 17, 1997.

  • Dilshan's aforesaid century is his fifth in ODIs. He has posted two hundreds against India and one each aainst Netherlands, Pakistan and South Africa - all five on foreign soil.

  • Dilshan's tally of ten centuries in international cricket this year is the best by any batsman - 4 in ODIs and 6 in Tests. Both his centuries' tallies in Tests and ODIs are the best this year.

  • Virat Kohli (54) has posted his maiden fifty in India, his third in ODIs.
