"It's a good idea. But we can think of it after the Champions Trophy," he told reporters here on the sidelines of an event.
Tendulkar had suggested the amendment in the format of one-day cricket in the wake of growing popularity of Twenty20 format, which threatens to overtake the 50-over game.
Ganguly was happy over Indian cricket team's march towards the number one ranking after the six wicket win over New Zealand in Colombo on Friday.
"It's very good news, but we have to maintain the continuity," he remarked.
Asked to comment on the latest row involving off-spinner Harbhajan Singh and a cameraman at Bangalore, Ganguly refused to say anything.
"Let me know the facts (first), he quipped.
