Gambhir 4th to score five consecutive tons
Gautam Gambhir became the fourth batsman in the world to score five consecutive Test hundreds during the first Test against Bangladesh.

Australian legend Don Bradman leads the pack with six consecutive Tests tons while South African Jacques Kallis and Pakistan's Mohammad Yousuf have also scored five hundreds in five consecutive matches.
Four of the Indian opener's five tons came in the second innings.
Gambhir's four earlier Test tons were in Napier (137 against New Zealand in March 2009), in Wellington (167 against New Zealand in April 2009), in Ahmedabad (114 against Sri Lanka on November 16, 2009) and in Kanpur (167 against Sri Lanka on November 24, 2009).
Gambhir has a chance to equal Bradman's record in the second Test against Bangladesh, starting on January 24 in Dhaka.
Bradman's feat of hitting six hundreds in six Tests came between January 1937 to July 1938, all against England spread over two series with three tons coming in Australia while the other three in England.
