Mumbai :
Former India Test captains Polly Umrigar and Nari Contractor have not taken kindly to the statement made by batsman Virender Sehwag.
In Sehwag's view he would prefer a defensive player to partner him as opener.
According to Umrigar, the captain, senior members and the coach are in charge of deciding who is the best man to open.
Contractor, an opener himself, supported the views of his former teammate.
Sehwag said he would prefer the likes of Akash Chopra and Sanjay Bangar to open the test innings alongside him.
The star batsman says that it would be easier for him to go for his shots with Chopra or Banger being on the other end.
However, Ganguly commented that Yuvraj Singh would open in Tests. (PTI)
