Sourav Ganguly, Kapil Dev to join Ian Botham in Sri Lanka charity walk
Addressing reporters here on Thursday, Botham said between November 1 and 8 he will walk from the northern town of Kilinochchi to Hambantota in the deep south through local towns and villages to raise funds so that disadvantaged children in Sri Lanka and around the world have access to vital sports activities.

Former England great Ian Botham will take undertake a charity walk in Sri Lanka coming November to raise funds for disadvantaged children.
Addressing reporters here on Thursday, Botham said between November 1 and 8 he will walk from the northern town of Kilinochchi to Hambantota in the deep south through local towns and villages to raise funds so that disadvantaged children in Sri Lanka and around the world have access to vital sports activities.
"I will be doing 20 miles a day in the heat and humidity of Sri Lanka", Sir Botham said.
Botham is to join in the walk by the West Indian Brian Lara, the Indians Saurav Ganguly and Kapil Dev, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene, the Sri Lankan stars.
The legendary all rounder would also visit schools and sports projects along the route of over 500 kms . The Funds raised from the walk would support over 100 projects in 34 countries and aim to help the poorest children.
Sir Botham during his illustrious England career made just a solitary appearance in Sri Lanka. The occasion was Sri Lanka's inaugural Test back in February 1982.
