Derby:
Taylor only arrived in England earlier this week after being given a late green light to join the tour following a car crash which left him nursing a hip injury.
But the Jamaican quick made an immediate impression with three wickets in his first 12 balls of the tour as the Lions struggled to match the tourists' first innings total of 203.
England's second string suffered a dreadful start with skipper Rob Key falling to Taylor's second ball of the innings when he was trapped lbw playing around a full-length delivery for a duck.
Taylor followed that by dumping new batsman Ian Bell on his back as he took precautionary measures to avoid a bouncer and then claimed two wickets in three balls in his next over.
Fellow opener Stephen Moore fell fending off a short delivery to Devon Smith at second slip and two balls later Jonathan Trott edged behind pushing at a wide delivery.
His hostile burst left England reeling on 13 for three and although Bell and Samit Patel forged a 43-run stand, both fell before tea to leave the Lions struggling on 103 for five at the interval.
Bell, needing an innings to keep the pressure on the selectors following his omission from the Test squad, was unfortunate to fall lbw to David Barnard with a delivery which appeared to be missing leg-stump.
Patel, left out of the squads for both the World Twenty20 and the one-day series against West Indies, fell after mis-timing a hook off Nelon Pascal three overs before the interval.
Warwickshire wicketkeeper Tim Ambrose helped the Lions recover with a battling, unbeaten 49 which included eight fours in 16 balls either side of tea, but Bernard ensured the tourists kept the pressure on by clean bowling Luke Wright.
Warwickshire seamer Chris Woakes had earlier continued his impressive display for the Lions when the tourists resumed on 76-4 after he grabbed four for 26 the previous evening.
He continued that eye-catching display with a further two wickets to grab a career-best 6-39, the fourth haul of five wickets or more in only the 17th first class match of his short career.
His efforts, dismissing Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Brendan Nash during an opening spell of two for 13 from six overs, helped the Lions reduce West Indies to 96 for eight but a determined 58 from Bernard pushed the tourists past 200.
