Hanuma Vihari has a shocked look on his face as he walks up to his partner but then returns without taking the DRS. He was a dead duck, to be honest. Great delivery, landing on a full length outside off and jagging back in sharply off the pitch at 127 kph. Hanuma Vihari is caught inside the crease as his attempt to flick flops. Kohli departs cheaply and it's a big heartbreak for his fans also, who continue to wait for his next century. 4.1 OUT! EDGED AND GONE! Jasprit Bumrah with a double-strike and Zak Crawley is sent packing! Bumrah goes fuller and pushes it a bit outside off. The ball is shaping away and Crawley just gets suckered into playing the cover-drive. The ball goes off the outside edge and it's an easy catch for Shubman Gill at third slip. Both English openers have fallen prey to the Indian skipper early on and Bumrah will now be on a hat-trick.  27/2

Full and wide this time, Ollie Pope looks to cover drive but does so away from his body. 23 OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Huge, huge moment in the game and Mohammed Siraj has got the big fish! Siraj goes a bit short and angles it in from wide of the crease. The ball pitches outside off and keeps following the batter with extra bounce. Joe Root is deep in his crease and leans back, trying to perhaps guide it over the slip cordon. Shami continues with his 'round the wicket angle, serves it on a length around off and it leaves the batter with the seam movement. He though fails to find the middle of his bat and once again hits it aerially towards mid off. This time Bumrah is alert, he throws himself to his left and takes a wonderful two-handed catch. 52.3 OUT! CAUGHT! Broad has a wicket early in the morning. However, it's not a delivery to be proud of. Short and wide outside off, there to be hit, Cheteshwar Pujara latches onto it and tries to cut it square of the wicket on the off side. He though fails to keep his shot down and the ball travels straight into the hands of Alex Lees stationed at backward point. End of a fine knock by Pujara. India lead by 285 runs.  153/4

16.3 OUT! CAUGHT! This one lands fuller and outside off, Hanuma Vihari looks to drive it but gets a thick outside edge and the ball goes towards third slip where Jonny Bairstow takes it safely.  43/2

29.5 OUT! EDGED AND DROPPED... NO, WAIT! IT HAS BEEN TAKEN! Kohli has to walk back! That is a brute of a delivery. Surely Kohli must be wondering, why him? We have hardly seen any balls misbehave and Kohli was looking so good but he gets a brute of a delivery here. Not a lot he could do with that. Stokes, the English skipper, breaks the stand that was going along so smoothly. This is on a length and around off, it lands, takes off and moves away. Kohli pushes at it ahead of his body, the ball flies off the shoulder of the bat towards Billings. He does not pouch it but Root at first slip is alert and he takes a good one-handed reflex catch on the rebound. Is this the opening England needed? India are effectively 207 for 3.  75/3

62.2 OUT! TAKEN! That is a superb catch from Root at slip! He hardly had any time to react but has hung on and it is the big wicket of Pant. So easily Pant could have taken the game away from England in the span of 30-40 minutes but the move to continue with Leach with two-left handers out there has worked. Pant continues to try and attack him. He brings out the reverse sweep. This is tossed up outside off. Pant is through with the shot a little too early. It hits the higher part of the bat and goes to the right of Root at first slip. He takes it well. End of a good knock by Pant but India would have loved for him to add a few more.  198/6

59.2 OUT! TAKEN! Iyer yet again falls to a short ball! He really needs to find a way to tackle this because the plan is quite evident when he walks out to bat and it is working against him. Matthew Potts is delighted and why not? Bowlers love it when a plan comes off. It is a good short one, a really effort ball, Potts gets it to bounce as high as the batter's head on this wicket. Iyer looks to pull but it hits the splice and lobs to mid-wicket where it is taken by Anderson. India are effectively 322 for 5.  190/5

79.2 OUT! DRAGS IT ON! Jadeja, the last recognized batter, falls. That is the reason why we were not sure about his approach. He played defensive and was also refusing the singles. Now perishes and a lead of 400 looks far away for India. A short one on off, Jadeja looks to guide it down to third man but the ball is a little too close to play that shot. He gets an inside edge onto the stumps.  236/9

69.1 OUT! TAKEN! Crawley hangs on to this one! Potts bounces yet another batter out! A good short one, on middle, Thakur is not holding back. He goes for the pull but it flies more off the top edge. There is a deep backward square leg and a fine leg in place. It goes in between them but closer to the fine leg fielder. Crawley there moves to his left and takes a well-judged catch just ahead of the ropes. England will now want to make quick work of the tail. Just the three wickets left for India.  207/7

73.4 OUT! TAKEN! That is the start England wanted after the break and Stokes is the one who provides the breakthrough. The short ball ploy works. The line was the key, it was slightly outside off. Shami looks to drag the pull, but he fails to get on top of the bounce and it goes off the top edge towards backward square where the fielder is standing yards ahead of the fence. Easy catch for Lees.  230/8

81.5 OUT! TAKEN! That is the end of the innings! Yet another batter falls to a short ball. Stokes gets his revenge. It is short and on the body, Bumrah is cramped for room as he tries to pull. 24.1 OUT! RUN OUT! Total chaos between the two batters! Ravindra Jadeja gets the ball to turn off the rough and gets an inside edge off Alex Lees' bat towards short fine leg as he presses forward to defend. Lees has no idea where the ball has gone, he trusts Root's call and responds. Meanwhile, Mohammad Shami attacks the ball and sends a flat throw to the bowler who does the rest. Alex Lees is not even in the frame. He never got any pace in his running there. Lees is disappointed as he looks behind. Virat Kohli is celebrating big time. England in deep trouble.  109/3

That is an error in judgment and India gets the much-needed breakthrough and it is Jasprit Bumrah who delivers! It is never a good idea to leave a ball on a wicket where there is not a lot of bounce. With the new ball, it is still fine but you can’t leave it on length against the old ball and Crawley makes that mistake. It is just outside off, it comes back in. Crawley shoulders arms without covering the off pole. It hits the top of it. Will this open the floodgates? Can they take one more before the break?  107/1
