Chennai:
Rahul Dravid has been named as the skipper for India's three-Test cricket series against Sri Lanka beginning on December 2.
The selection committee, headed by Kiran More, decided to give Dravid the reins of the Test team as well after deliberating on the much-speculated issue here.
"Dravid will lead India in the Test series against Lanka," BCCI Secretary S K Nair said.
The decision means Sourav Ganguly, India's most successful skipper, has been stripped of Test captaincy also after being sacked as ODI captain and member of the ODI squad. (PTI)
