Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Saturday returned home after India's early ouster from the Champions Trophy cricket tournament in South Africa.

Dhoni, who was received by the family and close friends on his arrival at the Birsa Munda Airport here, left for home amid tight security.

Earlier, India's listless campaign in the eight-nation tournament came to an end after defending champions Australia beat Pakistan by two wickets on September 30, although Dhoni's men managed a consolation win against the West Indies on the same day.
