Cape Town:

South Africa fast bowler Dale Steyn will miss the second Test against England at Newlands due to a lingering shoulder injury.

Kagiso Rabada replaces Steyn for his fourth Test appearance, South Africa captain Hashim Amla said on Friday.

The Test starts on Saturday.

The hosts, who are the top-ranked team in the world, lost the first of four Tests by 241 runs to England. Steyn, who started that match as the top-ranked bowler in the world, twice came off the pitch in mid-over on day three and did not bowl again.

England captain Alastair Cook says James Anderson, who missed the first test in Durban with a calf injury, is "desperate to play" but no decision has been taken yet.

Anderson is the country's record Test wicket-taker.
