Colombo:
Team officials say all-rounder Paul Collingwood will have knee surgery as soon as England's World Cup campaign is over.
Collingwood, 34, has had scans on both knees during the World Cup. He played in four of England's World Cup group matches and was dropped from key matches against South Africa and West Indies that England won.
The surgery - it is not known if it will be on one or both knees - could threaten Collingwood's participation in next month's Indian Premier League, where he has signed for the Rajasthan Royals.
An ECB spokesman said Collingwood will stay with the team as long as it is involved in the tournament. England plays Sri Lanka in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
