Leadership quality is far more important than the nationality of a captain in the ongoing Indian Premier League, feels explosive Delhi Daredevils opener Virender Sehwag.

The Delhi marauder on Wednesday praised Australian spin legend Shane Warne for captaining Rajasthan Royals in a fantastic manner in the Twenty20 event.

"Look at Shane Warne. How well he has been leading the Rajasthan Royals side in this tournament. The most important aspect of playing in the Twenty20 format is being able to play freely without any pressure. That brings the best out of you.

"It's unimportant whether an Indian or a foreigner leads the side. What's more important is that who's leading the side. Whether that person is able to bring out the best out of his players or not," Sehwag told reporters on the sidelines of a promotional event here on Wednesday.

The Delhi Daredevils skipper Gautam Gambhir had earlier termed Rajasthan Royals, winners of 2008 edition, as an "ordinary" side.
