Abu Dhabi:
The 27-year-old left-armer, playing only his second one-day match, took 5-35 to help Australia dismiss Pakistan for 197 in the fourth match here on Friday.
Australia rode on captain Michael Clarke's unbeaten 100, who along with Shane Watson (85 not out) put on 197 for the third wicket - a record against Pakistan - to steer Australia to an eight-wicket win.
Bollinger said it was a great honour to play a part in the team's win.
"It's fantastic," said Bollinger after the match yesterday. "It is great to win the series and I am very excited and will remember this for my whole life."
Bollinger, who took two wickets in his debut Test against South Africa last year, replaced frontline paceman Brett Lee in the original squad. Lee by then had failed to fully recovery from fitness problems.
Bollinger went wicketless in his debut match which Australia won by six wickets in Dubai to level the series at 1-1. He was not included for the third match here on Monday.
Bollinger said he will take it match by match but has always dreamed of playing in the Ashes, due to start in July in England.
"It is a dream (to play in the Ashes), every young cricketer in Australia wants to achieve that as it is the best competition Australia can play and every player wants to be successful there.
"This can be it (the platform) but I just take tomorrow as tomorrow and Sunday as Sunday and take it day by day. I get the next opportunity and make sure that I grab it with both hands and if it's Ashes it would be great."
Bollinger, nicknamed 'Eagle', had a successful last year - both on and off the field. He finished among the leading wicket-takers in Australian domestic competition and had a hair transplant as well.
Bollinger topped the Pura Cup wicket tally with 45 at 15.44 which helped him get a place in the Australian Test squad.
"There was a bit of change that old guys were retiring so there were opportunites and I got mine," said Bollinger, who idolised former Aussie paceman Glenn McGrath and Pakistan's Wasim Akram.
"I followed McGrath and Wasim. Wasim made the ball talk and besides McGrath he was my favourite," said Bollinger.
