Blue Alert against Lalit Modi in IPL case

The Enforcement Directorate has issued a blue alert against Lalit Modi in the IPL case.

New Delhi:

The Enforcement Directorate has issued a blue alert againstLalit Modi in the IPL case. This means he can be intercepted and checkedthoroughly before he travels abroad. 

Modi is being investigated for income tax fraud when he was theCommissioner of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Various deals he struck-including a controversial broadcast rights deal - allegedly violated the lawand have been cancelled since.

Modi is also being investigated by the Board of Control forCricket in India (BCCI). A disciplinary committee is hearing the charges againsthim. Modi believes that the committee is prejudiced against him. 

Modi has repeatedly said he is not guilty of any financialmisdeeds.
