BCCI's AGM on September 24

Mumbai:

The Cricket Board's 80th Annual General Meeting would be held in Mumbai on September 24.

"The AGM would be held on September 24. There are no elections scheduled for any post," BCCI sources said on Monday.

"The election of the next president (to take over in September 2011) would take place at next year's AGM", they said.

Incumbent BCCI Chief Shashank Manohar became the Board's first President-elect after an amendment was made in its constitution when Sharad Pawar headed the organisation. Manohar, representing Central Zone, took over the reins in September 2008 and is set to continue till 2011.

As per the Board's rotation policy, the next President would be from South Zone.

One of the main points of interest at this year's AGM would be the formation of a new paid selection committee for juniors and seniors that has to be appointed by the members.

The current senior selection panel is headed by Krishnamachari Srikkanth, who represents South Zone, and the other members are Yashpal Sharma (North), Narendra Hirwani (Central), Surendra Bhave (West) and Raja Venkat (East).

The five-member junior selection committee is headed by Abey Kuruvilla of West.

A new Working Committee would be constituted along with various other sub-committees.
