New Delhi:
The Haryana spinner, who is among the 30 probables picked for the ICC Champions Trophy, is optimistic about his chances in making the final squad.
"I want to remove the tag of Test specialist. For the last two seasons, I have performed well in the shortest format of the game, which is more challenging then the ODI," said the chubby leggie, referring to his success for Delhi Daredevils in the Indian Premier League.
"I have worked on my batting and I think I can be very handy in 50 over games as well," he told IBN 7 channel.
Mishra finished as the second highest wicket-taker in recently concluded Emerging Trophy in Australia and he credited his improved performance to the tips he got from spin legends like Anil Kumble and Shane Warne.
Recalling his recent meeting with the Australian legend, Mishra said, "Warnie told me never go by the reputation of the batsman. 'You go to bowl in your usual manner. Leg spin is a difficult art but never give up'."
Talking about Kumble, Mishra said, "He is a legend. If I could achieve even half of what Anil Bhai has done in international cricket, I will consider my-self extremely lucky," he said.
