Wimbledon 2012 Men's Singles Final: Federer vs Murray - As it happened

ROGER FEDERER WINS THE WIMBLEDON SINGLES TITLE FOR THE SEVENTH TIME

22:38 - Murray holds on, just about. The game went to deuce though. 5-4. Federer serves for the match and the championship.

22:34 - Federer holds on marginally and takes a 5-3 lead. Looks Federer's championship now.

22:31 - Murray just about holds his serve to cut the lead down to 4-3. Still a break down though.

22:27 - Murray missed a sitter and could have broken back Federer. It is Federer who leads now 4-2 in the fourth set.

22:23 - The match enters its fourth hour now and the effects are clearly visible on Murray. Federer has a break-point. Fedex breaks Murray in the 4th set. Leads 3-2 now.

22:22 - Vintage Federer is on display at the Centre Court now. Beautiful pass down the line by the former champion. Murray still looks in discomfort, may be his demeanour. Federer and Murray now level at 2-2 in the 4th set.

22:16 - First double fault of the match here from Andy Murray after 33 games in the match. Murray leads 2-1 in the fourth set now.

22:12 - Federer is being given a run for his money here by Murray. Break point for Britain's number 1. Federer manages a deuce though. Murray has come out determined to give it his best shot but Federer holds on to level 4th set at 1-1.

22:07 - Murray takes the first game of  the 4th set. An impressive service game despite the hiccups. Looks jaded though.

Fourth set begins.

22:02 - Federer takes the third set 6-3. What an ace!

22:00 - Federer serving for the third set to take a 2-1 lead in the match. A good service game now will work wonders. But Federer is choking it seems.

21:56 - Murray holds on to just about stay in the set. It is 5-3 now.

21:53 - Federer too makes a meal of his service game. Murray trying hard but the former champion seems to have found another gear here. Leads 5-2 now.

Federer leads 4-2 in the third set now.

21:45 - Andy Murray's passing has been wonderful today. Federer has had to play out of his skin to somehow stay in the match here and done so well. Murray slips but escapes major injury. Another great return down the line by Murray. Third set at 4-2 after Federer's heroics. Long game that one. Many break points saved by Murray. 10 deuces in that game too.

21:30 - A great service game by Federer. 3-2 he leads now in the third set.

21:26 - Murray hits yet another ace. Fine serving form he is in. But Fedex seems in his touch now, fine drop shot. Murray holds on though to level third set at 2 games a piece.

21:23 - Federer resumes and takes the game after the interruption. Leads 2-1 in the third set.

The match is about to begin now after a brief interruption. It is 1-1 in the third set.

21:03 - The roof is on now as the rain does not relent. It will take about 30 minutes now to get the final undergoing again. Waiting is all that can be done now.

The covers are on and it is raining quite hard in Wimbledon but the roof does not seems to be moving yet. Fingers crossed though as an amazing final is at hands.

20:44 - And mid-way through Federer service game, rain plays spoilsport. Covers on.

20:40 - The discomfort though, does not prevent the crowd favourite to blast an awesome winner. The umbrellas going up too. May be a stoppage beckons. Andy Murray takes his first game of the third set. 1-1 it is now.

The third set begins and Murray seems to be under some sort of discomfort.

20:32: Federer Express rolls on as he takes the second set 7-5 to level 1 set each against Britain's hope Andy Murray.

20:31 - Murray keeps on piling the aces. 7 to his credit now against Federer's 4. The former champion is getting into his stride though it seems.

20:26 - Murray has the luck too on his side today. Could have been an easy game for Federer but went to deuce. Fedex holds on though. Seems set for a tie-breaker. Murray trails 5-6.

20:23 - Andy Murray serving better at the crucial moments it seems. Ace number 6 here for the home favourite. Takes the game to level at 5-5.

20:20 - The Briton is fighting tooth and nail for each point at the Centre Court. Seems quite determined and pumped up. Federer seems a bit shaky at the same time.

Federer just about holds on to take the lead in the second set at 5-4.

20:13 - It seems that the second set will go on serve. Murray hold on to level 4-4. Lost just a single point in that game.

20:10 - Roger Federer too plays an immaculate service game. The champion leads 4-3 now.

20:06 - It remains on serve in the second set. Murray serving well here. 3-3 now.

20:02 - Now the games are getting intense and long. The first set was 57 minutes long, the second is already over 20 minutes. Federer leads 3-2 now.

19:50 - Roger Federer takes the first game in the second set and in the second game Murray goes through a lot of trouble to win it, but eventually does so. 1-1.

Andy Murray takes the first set 6-4.

Andy Murray then broke Federer to lead 5-4 and thus serve for the first set.

It was the eighth game that went to the fifth deuce but was eventually won by Murray to level at 4-4.

19:00 - But Federer played brilliantly to peg back at level terms at 2-2.
