Somdev Devvarman beat third seeded Jesse Levine of America in straights sets to enter the semifinals of the ATP Challengers in Nashville, USA.

New Delhi:

Unseeded Indian Davis Cupper Somdev Devvarman beat third seeded Jesse Levine of America in straights sets to enter the semifinals of the $75,000 ATP Challengers in Nashville, USA after beating World Number 94 Jesse Levine in straights sets.

The Indian beat the world number 94 American 7-6(5) 6-2 in the quarterfinals of the hard court event. He would next meet second seed Bobby Reynolds for a place in the final.

Somdev had earlier beaten Reynolds, world number 86, in the pre-quarterfinal round of Lexington Challenger.

Meanwhile, the Indian pair of Ashutosh Singh and Harsh Mankad stunned second seeded pair of Australia's Ashley Fisher and Jim Thomas of the US 6-3 6-4 to storm into the semifinals of the doubles competition.

The Indians, who entered the main draw as qualifiers, are up against American wild card pair of Scott Oudsema and Tim Smyczek.
