Sania, Mattek enter Stanford semis

Sania Mirza and her American partner Bethanie Mattek have stormed into the semi-finals of WTA event at Stanford.

Sania Mirza and her American partner Bethanie Mattek have stormed into the semi-finals of WTA event at Stanford with a 6-2 6-2 win over the Indo-Serbian pair of Shikha Uberoi and Jelena Jankovic. Uberoi and Jankovic had earlier defeated the top-seeded pair at this tournament. Sania and Mattek will now take on the winners of the other second round match between the Italian-Argentine duo of Maria Elena Camerin and Gisela Dulko and Ukrainian sisters Alona and Kateryna Bondarenko. Last week, Sania had reached the finals of the Tier III WTA event at Mason with her Polish partner Marta Domashowska, reaching her career best doubles ranking of 31.
