Wimbledon:
Neil Stubley has been appointed the next head groundsman at Wimbledon.
The All England Club says the 41-year-old Stubley will continue as an understudy to Eddie Seaward until he assumes the position of head groundsman following the 2012 London Olympics. Seaward is to retire next year.
Stubley has been at Wimbledon for 16 years, the past nine as senior groundsman.
All England Club chief executive Ian Ritchie says "we have appointed the best person to ensure that Wimbledon's life blood, its grass tennis courts, continue to play their vital role in the future success of the club and the championships."
The Olympic tennis tournament will be played on the grass courts at Wimbledon.
