Indianapolis win lifts Roddick

Indianapolis:
Andy Roddick soothed his pain from a Wimbledon quarter-final embarrassment as he advanced into his comfort zone with a first-round victory at the ATP Championships.

He said that defeating Alex Kuznetsov in his first match since Wimbledon, was a tonic for squandering a two-sets-to-love lead to Richard Gasquet.
