Aus Open: Ana Ivanovic beat Venus Williams

Ivanovic beat Venus Williams for the very first time in her career, the final scoreline was 7-6, 6-4 handing Ivanovic a semi final berth.

Sebian tennis fan were delighted in Melbourne as both Novak Djokovic and Ana Ivanovic advanced to the men's & women's singles' semi finals of Australian Open respectively.

Ivanovic beat Venus Williams for the very first time in her career in a match where both players matched one another in the unforced errors department, the final scoreline was 7-6, 6-4 handing Ivanovic a semi final berth.

The 20-year-old will face Slovakia's Daniela Hantuchova in the last 4 while fellow Sebian Jelena Jankovic will square off against Maria Sharapova in the other semi- final.

In the men's game Novak Djokovic defeated fifth seed David Ferrer in straight sets to book his place in the men's semi finals. The 3rd seed beat Ferrer 6-0, 6-2, 7-5 and will face either Top seed Roger Federer or James Blake in the semis.
