London:
Andre Agassi, coming off a quarterfinal loss at the French Open, has accepted a wildcard to play in next week's Wimbledon warm-up tournament at Queen's Club.
Agassi, the 1992 Wimbledon champion, last played Queen's in 2000 when he reached the third round.
"It's the 25th birthday of the Stella Artois Championships this year and I can't think of a better present for our spectators, viewers and sponsors," tournament director Ian Wight said.
Agassi is looking for grass-court play after losing to Guillermo Coria 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4, in the French Open quarters on Tuesday. Wimbledon begins on June 23.
Agassi is the third former Wimbledon champion to take a wildcard into Queen's. Goran Ivansevic, the 2001 Wimbledon winner, and 1996 champion Richard Krajicek accepted invitations last month.
Also competing is defending Wimbledon champion Lleyton Hewitt, who is aiming for his fourth straight Queen's title.
Other entries include Britons Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski, Americans Andy Roddick and James Blake and Thai star Paradorn Srichaphan. Frenchman Sebastien Grosjean has also received a wild card. (AP)
