Commonwealth Games 2014: Indian Women's Table Tennis Team Loses Semifinal, Faces Australia for Bronze
India, who won the silver four years ago at home, will take on Australia in the bronze medal playoff Sunday in the Commonwealth Games 2014.

The Indian women's table tennis team failed to qualify for the summit clash in the Commonwealth Games as they lost their semifinal match 1-3 to defending champions Singapore at the Scotstoun Sports Campus on Saturday. (Medals Tally)
In the first singles, Tianwei Feng defeated Shamini Kumaresan 3-0 (11-1, 13-11, 11-5) but Manika Batra drubbed Mengyu Yu 3-2 (11-7, 5-11, 11-8, 5-11, 11-7) to level the tie at 1-all.
However, Ye Lin and Mengyu won the doubles clash defeating Madhurika Patkar and Shamini 3-0 (11-9, 11-7, 11-5) to take a 2-1 lead, which they extended in the next match when Ye beat Manika 3-1 (11-9, 9-11, 11-6, 11-5) to win the tie 3-1. (Boxers Vijender, Praveen Make Bright Starts in Glasgow)

Earlier, India had beaten New Zealand 3-0 in the quarterfinals.
