Mumbai Indians Full Squad, IPL 2026: Five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) entered the IPL 2026 mini-auction with a purse of Rs 2.75 crore - the lowest among all the ten franchises. In an amazing move, MI managed to get back their former player Quinton de Kock for an amount as low as Rs 1 crore. It will serve as a terrific back-up for South African wicketkeeper-batter Ryan Rickelton, who impressed in his maiden IPL season earlier this year. MI had released uncapped player Krishnan Shrijith, who offered a similar role but failed to get a game, ahead of the auction. The addition of de Kock just solidifies MI's squad. De Kock played three seasons for Mumbai Indians from 2019 to 2021. He scored 529 runs in his first season for the side, 503 in the second, and 297 in the third one.
The wicketkeeper-batter was released by Kolkata Knight Riders ahead of the IPL 2026 auction. Playing for six different franchises, de Kock has featured in 115 IPL games, scoring 3,309 runs at an average of 30.63 and a strike rate of 134.02.
Given they had very little money to spend in the auction, MI could not have serious bids. They invested in uncapped stars like Danish Malewar, Mohammed Izhar, Atharva Ankolekar, and Mayank Rawat. All four of them were bought for Rs 30 lakh each.
