Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take on Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 60th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday, May 11. Having won eight games out of 11, KKR are placed first in the IPL 2024 standings. On the other hand, MI are currently placed eighth in the IPL 2024 standings with eight points on the board after winning four matches out of 12. The last clash between these teams in Mumbai earlier this season was won by KKR.
Ahead of another exciting clash between these teams, we look at the predicted XIs of both sides.
KKR Predicted XI
Phil Salt
Englishman Phil Salt has been in spectacular form for KKR this season and has provided them with blitzkrieg starts as an opener. A destructive batter, Salt has made 429 runs in 11 IPL 2024 games with an average of 42.90 and a strike rate of 183.33.
Sunil Narine
After a few lean IPL seasons with the bat, Sunil Narine has looked in splendid touch as a batter. Averaging at 41.91, he has smashed 461 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 183.67 this year. He's also claimed 14 wickets and is one of KKR's go-to players this season.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi
Young Angkrish Raghuvanshi has looked good whenever he's been out in the middle. In 10 matches in IPL 2024, Angkrish has scored 163 runs at a strike rate of 155.24 and also has a fifty to his name. He will be eager to make an impact once again and is a player to keep an eye on.
Shreyas Iyer
KKR captain Shreyas Iyer has had a topsy-turvy season but remains a crucial player for the team in the middle order. Iyer has scored 280 runs in 11 games at an average of 35 and will be raring to go against MI.
Venkatesh Iyer
Even though he's had limited time with the bat in the middle, Venkatesh Iyer has still managed to make two fifties this season. The southpaw has scored 225 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 142.41. Iyer's match-winning 70 against Mumbai prevented KKR from a sudden collapse. He will try to replicate the same form again at Eden Gardens.
Rinku Singh
While Rinku Singh hasn't set this IPL season alight like he has done in the past, the hard-hitting left-hander has managed to produce a few impactful cameos for the team. He has made 148 runs at a strike rate of 146.53 and will have a role to play as a finisher against Mumbai.
Andre Russell
A match-winner with both bat and ball, Andre Russell has produced impressive performances, having led KKR to multiple wins already this season. He has scored 198 runs at an average of 33 and a brilliant strike rate of 186.79. Russell has also taken 13 wickets, making him one of KKR's most important players.
Ramandeep Singh
All-rounder Ramandeep Singh has done well in his limited time at the crease. He's scored his runs at a strike rate of 200 and is capable of chipping in with the ball as well, making him an integral member of the team.
Mitchell Starc
Mitchell Starc hasn't been at his best in IPL 2024 and has conceded quite a few runs in 10 games so far. His 12 wickets have come at a price, but the fact that he has bowled in pressure circumstances cannot be overlooked. His match-defining four-wicket haul against MI was crucial for KKR earlier this season and he will try to do that again in front of his home crowd.
Varun Chakravarthy
Spinner Varun Chakravarthy has been among the wickets in IPL 2024 having claimed 16 scalps so far - the most by any KKR bowler. He's performed relatively well against MI in the past and will back himself to get the better of their batters come Saturday.
Harshit Rana
Fast bowler Harshit Rana seems to be having a decent IPL season so far. The right-arm pacer has taken 14 wickets in nine matches and will be hoping to be at his best against MI.

MI Predicted XI
Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper)
Despite fireworks earlier in the season, Ishan Kishan has stuttered with the bat. With 266 runs in 12 matches, the wicketkeeper batter will be eager to score big against KKR.
Rohit Sharma
India skipper Rohit Sharma has struggled to score runs in \recent matches for MI. However, with 330 runs in 12 matches and a century to his name, Rohit is likely to display his batting prowess sooner rather than later.
Naman Dhir
In the previous match against KKR, Naman Dhir couldn't leave his mark. Despite getting few chances to bat in IPL 2024, Dhir has only managed 61 runs in five matches and he will need to start producing a few knocks of substance soon to keep his place in the team.
Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav has been in scintillating form in IPL 2024. Having already notched up three fifty-plus scores and one century, SKY has accumulated 334 runs in nine matches and has a stunning strike rate of 176.72. The right-hander could produce another big score come Saturday.
Tilak Varma
Indian batter Tilak Varma has been one of the shining lights for MI in their dismal IPL 2024 campaign so far. The explosive southpaw has piled up 384 runs in 12 matches while maintaining a strike rate of 147.13. Varma's sublime form could prove lethal against KKR.
Nehal Wadhera
Nehal Wadhera is yet to make his presence felt with the bat in IPL 2024. With 105 runs in four matches, Wadhera will be raring to score crucial runs in the upcoming match against Kolkata.
Hardik Pandya (captain)
MI's new skipper Hardik Pandya has failed to crack the winning algorithm in the IPL 2024. Additionally, the Indian all-rounder has struggled to convert his cameos into big scores. However, Pandya has proven to be effective with the ball considering he has scalped 11 wickets for MI.
Tim David
Australian hard-hitting batter Tim David hasn't yet replicated his IPL 2023 success this year. So far, David has accumulated 241 runs in 12 matches, showcasing a commendable strike rate of 161.74. He will be hoping to make a difference against KKR on Saturday.
Gerald Coetzee
Gerald Coetzee, the Protea pacer, will be a part of MI's pace bowling assault against KKR on Saturday. Coetzee's capacity to dismantle batters with his sheer pace has seen him claim 13 wickets in 10 matches and he will hope to add to that tally against KKR.
Piyush Chawla
Veteran leg-spinner Piyush Chawla will be key in leading Mumbai Indians' spin attack. Chawla's spin variations have guided him to eight wickets in nine matches and he will be key to MI restricting KKR to a lesser score.
Jasprit Bumrah
Star Indian bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been in sensational form this season. With 18 wickets in 12 matches, Bumrah is one of the highest wicket-takers in IPL 2024. His ability to bowl accurate yorkers could see him outsmart KKR's explosive batting lineup come Saturday.
