Kings XI Punjab Name David Miller as Skipper During Indian Premier League
David Miller has been associated with Kings XI Punjab since Indian Premier League season 4.
South African batsman David Miller was named as the captain of Kings XI Punjab team for the upcoming Indian Premier League season 9. (Read More from Indian Premier League 2016)
Speaking about his new role Miller said: "I am honoured to lead the Kings XI Punjab squad this year. I would like to thank the franchise, promoters, management and all the team members for the confidence they have in me.
"Kings XI have assembled an exciting squad with a good mixture of youth and experience and I am really looking forward to the opportunity that lies ahead."
Kings XI coach Sanjay Bangar said he is confident about Miller's potential as a leader.
"I have watched David grow as a player. He has displayed outstanding batting abilities and a cool temperament in many high-pressure situations. I am confident in his potential to lead the boys this season," Bangar said in a statement issued by the franchise.
