The Indian Premier League 2016, like previous years, will get off to a glamorous start at the Dome, National Sports Club of India, Mumbai on Friday night. Pop star Chris Brown will highlight the show while Katrina Kaif and Ranveer Singh will bring up the Bollywood cast. The tournament starts on Saturday evening with champions Mumbai Indians taking on debutants Rising Pune Supergiants at the Wankhede Stadium.
Bollywood has been an integral part of IPL. With celebrities like Ranveer Singh, Jacqueline Fernandes, Katrina Kaif and Honey Singh all set to dazzle the stage, the two-hour long opening ceremony promises to be an absolute cracker.

"Cricket and Bollywood have always been closely associated and what better way for me to show my support! I am totally looking forward to the experience. It is going to be fantastic," said Katrina.
Ranveer Singh said: "My act will honour the spirit of cricket and victory. I want to dedicate this performance to all the cricket fans across the world."
All eight team captains will be present to take the MCC Spirit of Cricket pledge, reaffirming the values in IPL's commitment to the Spirit Of Cricket. Mumbai Indians will put the trophy back in play, signalling the start of the 2016 season of the competition.
